WASH Program

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene SGOA's Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Program works to ensure that vulnerable and crisis-affected communities across Afghanistan have access to safe water, adequate sanitation, and essential hygiene services. We implement practical and sustainable WASH interventions that improve public health, protect dignity, and create healthier environments for children, families, schools, and communities.

Our WASH Interventions

Safe Water Access

SGOA constructs, rehabilitates, and improves water-supply systems, including hand pumps, solar-powered water systems, and gravity-fed schemes, helping communities access safe and reliable drinking water.

Sanitation

We construct and rehabilitate sanitation facilities in schools, health facilities, and communities, including latrines, toilets, drainage systems, and other sanitation infrastructure.

Hygiene Promotion

SGOA promotes healthy hygiene behaviors through community awareness sessions, handwashing demonstrations, hygiene education, and the distribution of hygiene kits to vulnerable families.

School WASH

We support schools with improved water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities to create safe, clean, and healthy learning environments for students and teachers.

Community Engagement

SGOA works closely with communities, local authorities, schools, and other stakeholders to promote community ownership, sustainable WASH practices, and long-term improvements in public health.

Our Goal

Our goal is to contribute to healthier and more resilient communities by increasing access to safe water, improving sanitation, and promoting sustainable hygiene practices.

Together for Clean Water, Better Sanitation and Healthy Communities

Through our WASH interventions, SGOA continues to support vulnerable communities and contribute to improved health, dignity, and well being across Afghanistan.
